Meet animals with origins from around the world at Virginia Zoo. This park has grown and expanded in its over 120’s years of existence. Orangutans, lions, elephants and other species make a trip to this zoo a unique experience.

About

The zoo first opened in 1900 and quickly grew to become a popular attraction in Norfolk. Over 200 animals filled the exhibits within the park. Since this time the zoo has undergone several renovations and expansions.

Not only are animals on exhibit from all over the globe but so are the plant species that represent their native habitats.
