The original London Bridge is located in the Arizona city of Lake Havasu. It opened at this site in 1971 and has attracted curious visitors for decades since.

About

Built in England in 1831 by John Rennie and his son, the London Bridge became a popular landmark in the British city. Over the years as the population grew and cars became more prevalent, the bridge was deemed inefficient. The city of London sold the bridge in the late 1960s.

Mr. Robert McCulloch was the lucky buyer who had been working on a project in Arizona. His goal was to develop Lake Havasu City into a vacation community. McCulloch thought that the bridge would serve as a great way to lure visitors to come to the area.

After rebuilding the bridge in its current location, the London Bridge opened in 1971. Ever since then, people have come to experience a bridge that made its way across the pond.

How to Visit

The London Bridge is free to visit and is located on McCulloch Boulevard in Lake Havasu City. Crossing the bridge over to the island, you can stop at London Bridge Beach for a picnic or swim!
