Enjoy a tour of the Manitou Cliff Dwellings just outside of Colorado Springs. Here you can learn all about Native American history and step inside a replica of what their homes would have looked like.

About

While the original cliff dwellings are farther south near the Four Corners, the Manitou Cliff Dwellings were built in the early 1900s for tourism. It was the hopes to educate visitors on the amazing history of the Ancestral Puebloans.

Although this is a replica of the dwellings are, many of the rocks used are from an abandoned site that had fallen down in southern Colorado.

When the Anasazi Museum opened in 1907, it taught passerby all about the ancient people who once lived in the Southwest area of what is now the United States.

Today many people who are visiting nearby Colorado Springs or Pikes Peak, stop by to explore the history of Native American people.

How to Visit

The Manitou Cliff Dwellings are located at 10 Cliff Dwellings Road in Manitou Springs. For more information about current hours and admission, please click here.

Thanks for reading and as always, keep on truckin’!
